Three Doors Down

three doors down the man sits alone.
Alone in his home, alone in the dark.
He is alone with only his memories.
No one to talk to but himself, Now he
even ran out of things to say to himself.
He is all alone now
more alone than he has ever felt before.
no one cares enough to see if he is alright.
no one cares if he lives or dies tonight.
he looks at the table beside him.
he stares at gun laying beside him.
he lays his hand upon the gun.
it is cold to the touch, but oddly
he feels good that it is there.
he thinks to himself; where did
i go wrong with my life?
no one loves him. no one cares.
he has no wife, no children.
no one who will miss him when
he is gone. he looks at the gun again.
why did he buy it? why does he need it?
he picked up the gun. he stared at it as
if mesmerized. Slowly he lifted it to his
temple. His hands trembled but he was calm.
He pulls the trigger and then he felt nothing.
And sadly no one misses him.
no one cared he had lived, no one cared
he had died
